How ICS works
ICS Asia works in Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR and The Philippines. ICS Asia’s two core programming areas are:
- Child Protection
- Civic Driven Child Development (CDCD)
As ICS Asia has shifted from a needs based approach to a rights based approach, it is committed to children’s well-being; creating a world of confident boys and girls who can enjoy their childhood and are able to protect themselves and develop to their fullest potential. In this world they are free from poverty, discrimination, abuse and exploitation so as to step into adulthood as responsible citizens.

In all ICS’s work, the goal is to work directly with communities, while engaging other relevant stakeholders such as different levels of government, local NGO's and INGO's in order that sustainable change at the community level is reached.
Key strategic principles that ICS Asia relies on are:
- Using a Rights-based approach
- Working at the community level
- Working with children
- Working in partnership
- Capacity building
- Advocacy and lobbying
